Subjects covered
    in the safety Briefing

  • Can we flight today ?
Our safety brief will cover the
    following topics

  • Risk analysis:
    Pilot, Airplane, Weather,
    Environment, Mission

  • Comfort
    Clothes, illness, fatigue, Anxiety

  • Look out

  • Communication

  • Control of the airplane

  • Progress of the lesson

  • Emergencies

  • Embarking the airplane and use
    of safety belts.
Before flight do a risk assessment.

Pilot: Am I  fit to fly and within the weight limits ? Do I have any
sickness to prevent flight ?

Airplane: Is the plane ready to fly safely and legally?

Weather: Is the weather suitable for the flight we are going to do?

Environment: Is the area we flying in safe, are there many aircrafts
in the area ? Is there any military activity nearby we should know
about ?

Mission: is the flight really necessary for what we are going to do ?
Remember this flight is for enjoyment, not to fly in adverse weather
to save people.

    Comfort in flight

Clothes: Avoid skirts and High Heel Shoes. The control stick goes
between your legs and high heels can damage the wing on entry into
the plane.  Wear clothes that are loose and comfortable.

Illness: Avoid flying if you are sick. Flying may be very uncomfortable
and cause severe ear pain if people fly with blocked Sinuses.

Anxiety: It is natural for people to be nervous. If you are nervous tell
the instructor. We can actually do things to help nervous flyers.
Before flying try to be rested with a good night sleep to avoid fatigue.
Look Out:  Our flights all take place in Visual Flight
Weather.
We do not fly in clouds on our flights with the
surface all ways in sight. Before turning the airplane
look around to make sure there are no objects you
could fly into i.e. mountains or other aircraft in the
area.

Before Turning

A pilot sitting in a side by side airplane can obstruct
the view of the other Pilot. Before turning Say:
“Clear right” (or left if the is a pilot blocking the
view). The other pilot should look out the window
and acknowledge, clear right or left depending what
seat he/she is sitting in.

Communication
We communicate to the tower through the use of
VHF radio. The tower can hear all voices in the
cockpit when communicating, so please don’t speak
when we use radios. We will tell you before we make
calls.

Emergencies
Emergencies can happen, but are usually
something simple like an oil temp gauge not working
properly. The instructor will carry out all
emergencies to ensure safety.

Seat belts
Before any flight we will demonstrate how to exit,
enter and how to fasten seatbelts for insured safety
of flight.
Progress of the lesson
The lesson goes through three phases. The first is a
demonstration of the maneuver. The second time the
flight instructor and student do the maneuver together.
The third attempt is by the student.

Control of the plane part one
It is important that during the flight both instructor and
student know who is controlling the airplane. Both people
flying always acknowledge who is flying the plane.

Follow me through: When the instructor says follow me
through put your feet and hands on the controls to get a
feel for what he is doing. Don’t try to fly the plane.

Relax: When the instructor says relax, take your feet
and ands of the controls and relax.

Control of the plane part two

You have Control: When the instructor says You have
control place your feet and hands on controls. When you
are ready to fly acknowledge by saying. I have control. If
you aren't ready say you still have control or standby.
Only when you are ready to fly acknowledge with "I have
control".

When the instructor wants to fly the plane again he will
say “I have control”. Acknowledge by saying “You have
control” and take your hands and feet of the controls
and relax.

The beginning lessons aren't so important on
acknowledgement as you will fly quite high, but learning
to do this from the starts is positive learning and
develops good habits for people who want more flying in
the future.

More lesson plans will be posted as well as a multi media course for our course.
Sample of our first flight safety briefing and the subjects covered in the discussion
    Safety and comfort

Safety and comfort comes first. Being in a warm friendly and safe environment goes a long way in the learning
process. Our instructors understand nervous visitors, or people who are in an unfamiliar area and with the help
good training and years experience help all visitors feel safe, relaxed and finish the day with real satisfaction.
Below is an extract from or safety brief that was created specially by the instructors at Aerotour Korea.
Lesson Aim: The purpose of the safety briefing  is to give people an insight not only into what the first lesson will
be about, but will to also cover important safety issues.

Lesson Objective: After the briefing you will have an understanding about how the lessons work and have
valuable knowledge towards the safety of flight.
